I fished the bushkill yesterday morning. Some sporadic caddis hatching but nothing much going on early there either. I did get 3 on a march brown wet fly. I surmise that the cold front that came in overnight on Saturday shut things off some.

I use 70 degrees as the toggle point for trout fishing. Above 70 then it's off to hunt "bronze trout" on the Delaware. I use pretty similar streamer tactics so it translates well when you switch back in the fall.

Buggers aren't streamers, they're buggers you can fish them to imitate large stonefly nymphs, leeches, crayfish. Streamers have feather wings!

So, here is a wild trout from the SBRR... notice the red halo around the adipose fin, and the red line along the bottom of the tail fin. The spots are pretty "normal" for a brownie. The fish posted in the picture looks like a stockie from the Hackettstown hatchery...they are very distinct in appear...
