Re: First visit ever to VCB
I fished it once upstream of the Village, got skunked. I would like to fish again, however it's a ride for me and I always hear there are issues with access given road and area closures.

Re: Wild Brook trout
Has anyone noticed the same correlation with chubs and Brook trout? Fished a brook I haven’t been to in more than a few years. Brook trout numbers were never off the charts high at this spot but the avg size made you for the lack of numbers. High gradient stream below a dam. Fished it hard for near...

I tend to shy away from the KLG, haven't fished it in a few years. Glad to see wild fish there.

Re: chest waders vs. pants
Personally I would opt for waders, always nice to have that added length. That being said there are companies (Aquaz for example) that make convertible waders that drop down to almost the waist. I own a set of their waders and highly recommend them. Love the material and quality. Interesting you br...

Re: Rain doing any good?
This time of year the ground just sucks it up, doesn't make it into the streams, and what falls directly in a stream just doesn't cut it. We would need days of steady rain to truly influence our freestone streams. I checked out a small WTS a couple of weeks ago, the water that was there was plenty c...

Re: 60 Degree Temps in July
Anyone else take advantage of the weather today. Went to the upper BF. Would have been satisfied with one. Ended up with three rainbows and two brookies, all on top. That sounds awesome, Cappy. Speaking of summer dry-fly fishing on the Big Flat, I was out recently during one of these cool mornings ...

Re: Tippet
Seaguar Red Label for fluorocarbon Seaguar Rippin for monofilament Not necessarily sold as tippet material, however I love the stuff and it's much cheaper in the larger bulk spools to purchase, then tippet material on the small spools. I wind off the big spool onto the smaller tippet spools as needed.

How did everyone who made it up do?
As for myself stayed local and did well with stocked Rainbows and wild Brook Trout. Will be my turn to head up in a couple of weeks.

Re: It's warm.
Check the gauge now. Temps in low 50s and river at 600 cfs with more rain on the way. When it rains, it pours as the old adage goes. Feast or famine it seems. Wonder what the trout think? Anyone going fishing? I was out Saturday in the rain, did well. Thinking about going out later this morning, wi...

Re: Five days on the upper Delaware coming up
My 20th Trout Louts trip with a great group of guys and gals. We will be at the Dreamcatcher Lodge on the banks of the West Branch through the Holiday weekend, fishing dry flies, telling lies, and drinking fine whiskey while sharing lots of laughs. Then it's full on field season where I will have l...

Re: Can someone name this river ?
Only issue is, there are only a handful of Trout streams in NJ of that size, and if you fish for Trout and are on this forum you already know them. Good one though.
