i would have kept saying "wrong answer" and just wait and collect how many new rivers you could try
Only issue is, there are only a handful of Trout streams in NJ of that size, and if you fish for Trout and are on this forum you already know them. Good one though.

Both situations are disgusting. That being said the VCB pic is worse, way more trash and human waste left behind.

Re: Net Rig

I use one of these.

The only improvement I made was to replace the bag with a Measure-Net medium nylon bag which is fish friendly, and much lighter and bulky then a ghost bag.

LOL with the bagels. Looks like someone dropped breakfast. What is upstream, looks like access is tight?

I tried chest and sling packs, found both annoying. Gave up vests years ago to hot in the warmer months.
I use a small waterproof hip pack.

Re: New Member: Euro Nymphing Equipment Advice

I don't have euro gear , however I fish with friends that do. If you truly plan to euro nymph be sure to get a euro nymph rod. A 2 or 3 weight euro nymph rod is referring to the tip for sensitivity, the mid to butt is basically a six weight to help set the hook when fishing heavy bead euro nymph nym...

Thank you Brian.

The Gorge and FB No-Kill stretches; do they remain open to fishing year round or closed from 3/15 thru 4/1 ?

2021 Regulations and Stocking Information?

Anyone know the stocking dates, protocol for this coming season and associated rules? I assume the C&R only stretches remain open regardless.

Re: Montana or Northern New Mexico?

So true about being seen as an outsider. Had that happen to someone I know who moved to SC. Something I forgot to mention about Montana and surrounding rural states. Someone I know who primarily lives in San Francisco and has a home and property in rural Salmon Idaho told me as you get out there the...

Consider easy access to health care and transportation as you age. I'm considering the Asheville, NC area when my time comes.

Re: Recommend a 3wt for Bluegill

Thanks for the responses so far. I know next to nothing about fiberglass, but the Redington Butter Stick II did seem like something that would interest me for this particular need. The price tag on that is pretty appealing also (again, not knowing much about the fiberglass market and what is high e...

Re: Recommend a 3wt for Bluegill

I use one of my Tenkara rods when targeting panfish.

For a fly rod consider fiberglass. On the expensive end look at the Redington Butterstick, less expensive look at the Aventik rods on eBay.

Also consider the Eagle Claw Featherweight 3/4.

Re: It's 18 degrees outside...time to start thinking about hatches

Size 16 or 18 black pheasant tail works just fine, as does an all black size 16 soft hackle. Very prolific hatch in NJ, I can't think of one trout stream in northern NJ that does not have good hatch.

What a difference a day makes. I also ventured out yesterday to a WTS.

Spend the money. Buy a Bauer..you will never need to buy another reel ever.
What if you misplace it, and your significant other can't find it for you.
