Re: Carp on a fly-rod popper

Carp are an amazing fish to catch that are overlooked all the time! And yes, they love berries, especially mulberry.

BooFest 2018

No its not about ghosts or Halloween but rather bamboo fly rods! A friend hosts BoofFest each year at his cabin in the Catskills with a stocked spring fed trout pond. I finally made it up this year and had a blast! Boo, beer and BBQ! I have never spent much time casting bamboo but now that I have I ...

That would be cool to fish the morning of your wedding. You should do it... it will be something you alway remember! Ha!
The real question is, will it also be something my WIFE always remembers!

Buy a Chatterbait in chartruce w a gold blade. Roll it just above the surface, its deadly for largemouth.
I surface fish at night and at night you want to fish lures as black as black can be!

Was out in the Poconos over the MD weekend and got a few at night. The big ones still seem to be lazy, just caught a bunch around 12".
Once it gets alittle warm it will be game on
Definitely!

Re: Spruce Run Creek dam removal for native brook trout

You will starve before there are enough if any in there. I'am sure the boy scouts are thrilled with a six foot wide puddle to fish in. That would be a 6' wide stream as the water is flowing. A puddle would be a small pool of stagnant water, typically formed by rainwater..... ;) The more you know!

Re: Spruce Run Creek dam removal for native brook trout

This thread is gold..... I get that some people are upset that a pond is gone but its really hard to see anything wrong with restoring something back to the way it should be. Re: Stocking Truck

Sunnies are probably my second favorite fish on the fly! No doubt! I fished Round Valley a few years ago from my kayak and caught some the size of dinner plates. They pulled me around, left a small wake if I remember  Should have taken them home for the dinner plate! They are some of the best ...
