It such a great little stream. Did you fish the big "water fall" hole at the top?

No didn't make it that far, I started fishing at 4pm and the hike up was extra slow with downed trees everywhere.

Admitidly spring flies, particularly dry flies are not my strong point. So what are the hot flies everyone likes to tie for the spring season that should see some action? I still nymph early season with your standard pheasant tail and hares ear flies but I know many others will get fish on the line...

I still prefer the classic way were the newest posts are at the last ones but you can change that preference yourself in the User Control Panel.

Im right there with you. Only made it up once in the early season and it was a bust. Now it looks like most of my weekends are booked up for a while. Also, my damn waders leak so I have to send those off to Simms once I get a chance.

The water is probably still a bit too cold the trout to start actively going after spinners. With all this rain the trout are sure to be nice and spread out along the river, so thats probably why spots that were heavily stocked didnt produce many fish. I was very good at falling in back in the day!

I would also think that putting some studs in them would also help if the soles are thick enough.

I have not been up to the salmon river this spring but from all the reports I see the drop back seasons is going well and going strong!! If anyone is able to make a trip please report back here!
