Re: Dredging Up Stockies
how is that button clip for the net? I use a telephone-cord-style spiral lanyard. I might put together a delrin clip since i find those are really tight and still easy to take off. That lanyard had leather loops to go around the net, and the other side of of the quick disconnect (which doesnt disco...

Dredging Up Stockies
After work yesterday I decided to hit a stretch of the SBR that I havent fished in a long time. With the cold drizzle I figured I could get some water to myself and I was right. I dont think I have broken out my 10' nymph rod in a long time but man it was nice to get back it! This used to be a "home...

Tippet Expiration Dates
Some brands, mainly Orvis, have "expiration dates on their tippet spools. Does anyone follow these? Having done less fly fishing over the past few years I have a collection of a few older spools. I recently tied up some leaders and strength tested some knots and sections, it all held up fine. I know...

Hacklebarney is great water to fish for sure but I havent been there myself in a long while! This afternoon looks like good "have it to yourself" weather with it being chilly and a chance for rain.

Re: WTS 5/3/2020
Why? Many people do not like Tenkara fishing although that fishing method is older than having a reel to hold your line. It is more restrictive, you cannot just cast anywhere, any distance, but since all you have is a leader and tippet, the fly sinks faster than having a floating line. For fishing ...

Re: 15" wild brown
I look at stocking streams with a decent wild population as a double edged sword. It gives the "stringer crew" some easy hatchery fish to catch and take home and hopefully leave the wilds alone. You also run the risk of them catching and keeping gorgeous wild fish like that. If you stop stocking the...

Re: WTS 5/3/2020
Dry fly fishing on the Upper Delaware system compered to small WTS are worlds apart IMO. On a small WTS those fish will hit anything that lands above them. With the choppy, broken up water and small pools they have less time to decide is something is a meal or not. On the long flat pools of the UD t...

PA Bass
Thankfully PA has allowed campground to re-open so I was able to get to my seasonal trailer in the Poconos over the weekend! Gorgeous weather and got my boat back out on the lake. Only the Mepps spinner was catching fish, mostly pickerel and perch but later on Sunday a few bass started hitting. Noth...
