I'm sure that's fantastic. One of these years I have to try that circus up in NY. I love smoked salmon.

Re: The dog days of summer are upon us
I've kayaked a few NJ reservoirs and picked up tons of panfish on my 7 ft 3 wt. If you like cheap thrills, and don't want to get arrested, it's hard to beat. I tried to wade fish a local reservoir on Wednesday, had a few short takes, the weeds were a killer though. Also found out my waders ha...

Re: The dog days of summer are upon us
Mother nature keeps vexing me, I want to hit the D for smallies but each time I've had a window to make the drive it rains like a beast and blows everything up. I might have to resort to local ponds and do some exploring on non-trout waters that are local.

Re: walking in the river
must be a PIA to deal with cold feet in the winter while fishing. i have been lucky so far to have not had any problems with cold feet. fingers get a bit cold once they get wet but my fingerless 100% ragg wool gloves keeps them nice and warm. Real PITA, I used to be great, never really to cold. Had...

Re: walking in the river
The Simms G4 was honestly a good boot. the only draw back is they are heavier then the rest. Weight is a big thing when your walking in them for some distance :( To be honest I have a pair of Cabelas lightweights that I really like, I had them before and switched to the Korkers cause I fell in love...

Im on my second generation of that style and the first pair got me five yrs with multiple bottom changes and swaps Particularly fun when the strap snaps and the bottom decides to replace i...

Korkers, not surprised, mine didn't hold up well at all. I'm a 2 time loser with them. I'll be switching brands.

Re: Fishing Emergers Question
I haven't fished emergers before and I have a few questions. First what pattern would you recommend as a good general emerger for the NJ rivers? Second how should I fish it? While swinging the nymph worked I do not feel it is the best way. Should I tie the emerger pattern as a dropper off a big dry...

Re: A huge wild brown...
That park gets an insane amount of traffic. The creek is pretty much pounded daily by hikers, dogs, and rock throwing kids. All of which I'm sure make the fish ultra spooky.

These responses are making me think back to the 'Boofests from years ago. Drossi, Rollcast, and whoever else out there with a bamboo rod--let me know if you want to hit a stream together. Let's do it. I'm in Glen Gardner, so most trout streams are near me. I am.in Glen Gardner as well..Second Stree...

I also ran into March Browns last night too. Only one-off risers, nothing consistent. The wet fly fishing was superb though. Just what one needs after a tough work day.

I'm aware. I was speaking to the one in the Poconos off rt 209. Bushkill.troutfishing4life wrote: ↑Wed May 10, 2023 8:02 pmDrossi

Re: My 1st brookie in about 10 years
My favorite river is still the Bushkill even after exploring alot of the northern part of the state I have a real soft spot for it as well. There are better Pocono streams but that one just seems to check a lot of the boxes as far as ascetics for me. The pine trees, the cabins, the tannic water...

Went there last night cause mostly everything close to me is too high for my liking for fly fishing. Well it had great flows but alas I took the skunk, not even one of the abundant fall fish wanted to come out. I'm going to reach back out to F&W to see if they will get to electro fishing it this yea...

Used to love fishing there back when I had a PA license! At one point I was able to maintain a NJ, NY and PA resident license until they all caught on  I used to have all 3 myself. But now I just keep a NJ & PA non resident. I keep the NJ because it cheap. & the PA 1 I can use up in the uppe...
