Re: Five days on the upper Delaware coming up
Temps for both air and water continue to drop up there. The B-kill is the "worst", but has 63 degree water. The West at Hale Eddy is a chilly 48F. Rain is coming along with mostly cooler temps day and night. Good luck up there! How was your trip rusty?? Synopsis? Hot, low conditions day one on the ...

Re: Five days on the upper Delaware coming up

I'll prob spend a few evenings on the b kill as the days and evenings will be cool, keeping the water temps down ....however I almost always spend more time on the mainstem....good luck to you as well!!! Temps for both air and wate...

Re: Brookies
Where does the upper SBR officially start? One would think at the outflow of budd lake where it's super tiny, but what do I know?? Sorry, the separation between upper and lower SBR is where? I guess that could be up for debate?? Some would consider the high bridge falls to be the end of the upper.....

Re: Brookies
They were gorging on Sulphur emergers, and any other bug that came into view, aggressive and unwary! This was on the SBR, where? I'm not telling. I've anecdotally been hearing from many anglers catching both native brookies and wild browns in the upper SBR and Musky. I'm thinking the stocking chang...

Re: Handling Trout for C&R
You've probably seen some variation on this: The guy cranks in a nice fish, then proceeds to handle it (plenty) with dry hands. (Guess he intended to keep those hip waders he was wearing dry for the duration.) Guy then tosses the fish back into the current and takes out a rag to wipe the slime off ...

Re: Five days on the upper Delaware coming up
My 20th Trout Louts trip with a great group of guys and gals. We will be at the Dreamcatcher Lodge on the banks of the West Branch through the Holiday weekend, fishing dry flies, telling lies, and drinking fine whiskey while sharing lots of laughs. Then it's full on field season where I will have l...

Re: Wet Wading Season Opener
I prefer to wet wade from May onward. The one exception is if I am going to be wading waste deep or more for extended periods in a tail water. Last fathers day I fished a tail water with temps in the low 50s-it was bizzare as the air temp got into the high 80s/low 90s and my face was sweating but m...
