Diseased PA Brookie
Encountered a small fish swimming in a slow pool on the side, lopsided and looked unhealthy. Then saw it was a brookie and likely a wild one for this size. I didnt even know there were brook trout streams immediately close by in the river i was fishing. This river is stocked with trout by the state ...

Re: Wild Brook trout
drossi hit me up ill just dump some brookies from dunnfield and start keeping all those creek chubs for my Sardine-Pizza recipe. Worked with middle brook, should work with any other stream amiright?? Jokes aside, I wonder if they would find it optimal to introduce brookies from another stream in the...

Re: Nj trifecta!!
tiger trout is 1/2 brook and 1/2 brown, so you only got a 2.5-fecta. And you need to catch a full brookie or another tiger/brook trout hybrid.
LOL
i jk great stuff. Rare to get all three together.

Re: Handling Trout for C&R
For people not following good C&R methods (like even the basics), some of it may just be lack of awareness, but i know half of it is just not caring. Likely some people just dont care enough for conservation vs the way they've been fishing for years. And refuse to change.

Re: Lower South branch float trip 5/22/2021:
Must have been plenty fun! I was about to comment that you must have had low water and been scraping or running aground on the gravel bars--and then I wondered how the water level was for you? The South Branch was actually "up" a bit on Sunday--and more turbid than it's been lately. I checked the U...

Re: Wet Wading Season Opener
Just did it today myself, tried for smbs but selected shallow and flowing water, I bet they are still in the deeper holes like I saw them last week. Probably water so low they cant venture around. The one deep hole i was hoping for had carp in it lol. I dont like balls deep wet wading but knee deep ...
