Re: Pequest TCA
Head downstream a half mile. You can thank me later. 8-) Last time I did that I got into fish (stocked browns, that's how long it's been), I also had a big azzed bear wander into the river 50 yards below me. I made a lot of noise and high tailed it in the opposite direction, except I tripped over a...

Re: Ice fishing season recap
Interesting, how did the auger/cordless drill combo work for you on 6"+ of ice. The auger cordless drill combo is a game changer its great. It worked fantastic I would say both times we used it we had between 8 to 10 inches of ice on the lakes and 1 battery was probably good for close to 20 holes. ...

and I'll dispute you on that in regards to most streams not named SBR. That's the one stream I fish where I just can't seem to escape people.troutfishing4life wrote: ↑Thu Mar 03, 2022 5:51 pm

Re: A conversation with the new Chief of Freshwater Fisheries regarding spring stocking
Good, now we have to hope for heavy rain and high water during the preseason closed waters to spread them out. I pray for this each and every yr during stocking periods....a few times in the last ten yrs conditions for optimal spread was good and made for a nice prolonged period of lots of fish alm...

Re: A conversation with the new Chief of Freshwater Fisheries regarding spring stocking
There will be one minor deviation from the 'usual' spring stocking schedule. In an effort to head off any potential staffing shortage issues due to illness that might possibly arise during the stocking period that would adversely impact getting the fish from the hatchery into the waters, an additio...

No worries from me. I have spots that see little pressure. My standards are hardly standard.

Re: Fly fishing show??
Put yourself in the owner's shoes. They had zero income last year and reduced income this year. What appeared to be a solid business model isn't when a pandemic hits. He's just trying to survive and he has to pay the Edison center for leasing the building. I agree with you totally different circums...

Re: 2022 Fishing Digest
They should do what PA does and cut the time they stock in half but do heavy stockings and do the stocking for opening day and then 4 other stockings with the remaining trout Agreed. But the vocal minority would kick and scream, if off the last 2 years they weren't going to make a subtle change the...

Re: 2022 Fishing Digest
I do like the preseason catch and release but you see so many dead fish from people gut hooking fish with bait. A good change would be artificial only during the preseason to hopefully see less dead fish. some later May stockings will be good once the bugs really start going I enjoyed the zero anno...

Re: 2022 Fishing Digest
I think a hybrid plan with the stocking dates and old system but allow all waters to be catch and release from the period March 15-April 9. This can often expand the season by 2 weeks if the weather is nice and offer some nice fishing early season fishing. This probably would not piss off too many ...

Re: Opinion on waders
If you got a solid 4 years+ on your current pair of Simms fishing basically every other day then why change brands? I doubt you'll find a brand that'll wear better than that. Sure they are pricey but once you amortize the price over the years of service vs. replacing cheap waders every year it's clo...
