Re: Who Wears A Vest?
I did have a wicker creel at one point along with a metal worm container that strapped on my belt. I I even had a metal telescoping fly rod. I still have a clip on metal worm container, think I got rid of the salmon-egg-jar-belt-holder though. Never got my dad's wicker creel, I think my brother nab...

Re: Who Wears A Vest?
I wear a vest when fly fishing but carry a creel when spin fishing. Old habits die hard. OMG... a creel... you are OLD AS DIRT Dave  A wicker creel brings back my oldest memories of fishing as my dad used one and would come home after opening day with his trout LOL! Yeah, I am getting up t...

Re: Who Wears A Vest?
pick up a wicker creel to hold your trout and you'd be right "up there" with Dave

Re: Who Wears A Vest?
I'm not saying a vest is "bad", I still have mine, but I've just taken to storing related "stuff" in the sling packs and fanny pack so I can grab and go for trout, warmwater, or saltwater, pond, surf or river. I think if I was just focusing on fly fishing for trout, I'd still be using my vest a lot ...

Re: Who Wears A Vest?
I have a vest and wear it occasionally. I have a fanny pack as well, or a small backpack, which I use more. I just load it up with what I will be using that day. The vest hangs in the closet and hold most of fly boxes, that's really its main use. Also, I added a poll for you. Did you see the option...

Who Wears A Vest?
I don't see a way to do a "poll" here... but just curious. While I have a couple of vests, I haven't used them in years (not that I'm doing all that much fw fishing in places where I "would have" used them, but I digress...) http://state.nj.us/dep/fgw/images/trtstkfall05.jpg I've got a fanny pack an...

Re: Raritan river 3/9/19:
Rahway river gets close to 12,000 trout while the Raritan gets 3,000- both considered warm water correct ? Then go fish the Rahway River    Nah, he'd rather post about me and trying to make me out as the single voice for TU on NJ Fishing or whatever that site name is when it comes to...

Re: SBRR the premier trout stream?
Thou Ken Lockwood Gorge is nice. I find other rivers just as or nicer. The lower Musky for me get much love. Imo the Musky Gorge is way nicer & lower fishing psi. The Pequest is a great contender also. Big Flat Brook is okay. But has seen its better days. Paulingskill has some nice spots in more ob...

Re: I Need Some New Waders
No reason you can't repair those, even with a 4" tear. Cut a patch at least 5" long by maybe 2" wide and use Aqua Seal. I once tore about a 3" gash in what at the time was a brand new pair of Simms G3s on a Hyde driftboat anchor cleat getting out quickly to fight a big brown that took my line under...

Re: Edison Fly Fishing Show this weekend
I was at the Freshwater Fisheries Forum last Saturday..........but what does one have to do with the other, I wonder?? One is a show about all things fly fishing the world over for all species of fish that swim which draws anglers from about 7 regional states. The other is about the state of NJ's s...

You can do worse (a skunk ) than a bluefish.
Sandy Hook, late May, outgoing tide, at the rip... can have epic flyfishing times out there
