I find protecting native fish to outweigh the scouts need to fish for bass in that pond....there are plenty of places to catch warm water fish,...

Re: Vest or waist-pack? (And what about the net?)
I use a waist pack with a shoulder strap. I use one of the magnet things and attached it to the to back of the pack on a little doo-dad they put to connect the shoulder strap.....it's great , the net handle sits at my left hand, so it is easy to grab and net a fish...not a great explanation, but it ...

Re: What color buggers do you like
Buggers aren't streamers, they're buggers  you can fish them to imitate large stonefly nymphs, leeches, crayfish. Streamers have feather wings! Pattern references Woolly Wisdom (1999), Soucie[1] The Woolly Bugger is an artificial fly commonly categorized as a wet fly or streamer and is...

Re: Flat Brook - 3 Bridges
Just don't take your first fly fishing trip on the East Branch of the Delaware, in a downpour on a drift "boat" with no seats, a 75 pound dog, 3 grown men, no guide, no reg. #'s, a cinder block for an anchor, and 1 fly rod set-up for dry fly fishing....that can be very frustrating

Re: SBRR wild browns marking coloration
Thanks for the picture help! So, the browns from Hackettstown, so I have been told, and I think I have caught a few, have the bigger spots and less red spots....in my opinion, those fish fight harder and look better than the ones the state used to raise....maybe because the government doesn't run it...

Re: SBRR wild browns marking coloration
So, I agree with you, I am saying every wild brown, I have ever caught out of the SBRR has these tell tale marks..I have also caught wild browns at smaller creeks that do and do not have the halo, but that white stripe on the fins in your picture are another sign of wild, I just have a hard time wi...

Re: SBRR wild browns marking coloration
So, here is a wild trout from the SBRR... notice the red halo around the adipose fin, and the red line along the bottom of the tail fin. The spots are pretty "normal" for a brownie. The fish posted in the picture looks like a stockie from the Hackettstown hatchery...they are very distinct in appear...

Re: SBRR wild browns marking coloration
so I can't figure how to post a picture, maybe someone can help with that...I don't have photobucket, trying to upload from desktop.. You need to find an alternate for PB. Doesn't look like the new site allows local hosting of pics. Try tinypic or postimage I'm sorry, I know more about trout than c...
