Re: WTS surprise tenant

Did you ever see that show where they show people who make a living off the land. There is one guy who traps eels for a living in Hancock New York on the Big D. I only have fished up that way for trout a handful of times and I did see eels or lampreys teach time.

Looks like you guys are really getting the rain with a lot more coming. Just when it was getting hot and low, things turned around.

Re: WTS surprise tenant

I remember one evening as a kid throwing a worm under a bridge on another nearby Lamington Trib that holds wild browns and hooking up with what looked to be a 3 foot eel. The thing was whipping around like a snake-I got so freaked out that I cut the line and walked away. Are there any land locked ee...

Re: Low water/flow tactics

Apparently a small stream is fed by some water that seeps out of the reservoir, but it is not a proper tail water. At 150-200 feet deep, it would have provided significant amounts of cold water if it had been designed differently! Even though it is in south jersey, the Toms is one that stays cold al...

Re: Introductions!

Welcome back Oliver! I have been overseas in non trout friendly places the last 8 years, so I only get to trout fish every year or so. But when I go, I make it count!

Re: Upper Wanaque

I remember seeing an article from one of the magazines put out by NJ Fish and wildlife from about 10-15 years ago-there was a picture of a wild 19-22 inch wild brown trout.

Re: Lamington River Pottersville-Bedminster

10 inch smallies on light tackle in fast moving water can be a lot of fun! Mix in the potential for some bigger trout, and it’s a nice combination! Good work!

Re: My First Land Locked Salmon?

I honestly have a hard time differenting them from brown trout, especially when they are smaller. Something about the tail is supposed to be different I think.

Re: Hacklebarney WTS

that’s really interesting that they are going to reintroduce brook trout. I was referring to the CB- As the name indicates, it runs cold all summer thanks to all the springs around cold springs road-even on the hottest summer days, it’s freezing to put your foot in-it’s completely shaded in its uppe...

Re: Hacklebarney WTS

Over what time period and what distance of stream did they remove 1000 brown trout? That’s a lot of trout for a tiny stream! Those brown sure can travel-in the brook in my parents back yard they have made it about a series of seemingly impossible water falls and completely replaced the brook trout/c...

Re: Lamington River Pottersville-Bedminster

I am from that area. It is kind of the transition between trout water and smallie water-yes there are lots of chubs too. There are wild trout, but not super high density from what I can tell. There are several brooks with wild trout that enter into the river in that area. I have caught some big wild...

Re: Introductions!

hat creek that you shouldn't be talking about on the internet isn't doing so well, the trouts are disappearing. I work in a neighborhood restaurant and know many landowners that have that creek run through their property, some fish some don't, but the word is the trout numbers are significantly dow...
