Re: Upper Brodhead Creek PA

supposedly big stripers in brodhead by the delaware confluence and the gorge? Maybe a spring thing when the shad also run. I dont happen to be fishing PA around this time though. In the late fall or mid winter, Ive fished by paradise creek before, there's a public park just downstream of it. Small ...

Re: Who fishes the Lehigh River here ?

I have fished it several times and I would say it is a long, large river with difficult wading, fluctuating water levels due to water release from, upstream dam, considerable annoyance from summer time tubers and an association dedicated to stocking and improving conditions on the Lehigh. Unfortunat...

Re: Who fishes the Lehigh River here ?

For those that might not know, he's talking about the "big" Lehigh and not the Little Lehigh. Wish I could help, but that remains one fairly local river I have yet to fish in my lifetime. But I do have my annual PA non resident license this year..... This is the main reason Im exploring PA heavy th...

Re: Upper Brodhead Creek PA

I've fished it below there in the parks. I wouldn't consider Analomink upper, that would be above the confluence of Paradise Creek. I don't believe there is any public access above that junction. With regard to fish equivalent to WB Trout, not going to find them there. Some wild fish, mainly stocke...

Re: walking in the river

must be a PIA to deal with cold feet in the winter while fishing. i have been lucky so far to have not had any problems with cold feet. fingers get a bit cold once they get wet but my fingerless 100% ragg wool gloves keeps them nice and warm. im the opposite. fingers & hands are fine. fished up pul...

Upper Brodhead Creek PA

Re: walking in the river

My buddy swears by the simms feather weights. but only in the summer. He says they are cold as shit in the winter months  You know I never really thought about wading boots keeping my feet warm in the colder months. Always figured that was the job of the socks and layering under my waders. It ...

Re: walking in the river

The Simms G4 was honestly a good boot. the only draw back is they are heavier then the rest. Weight is a big thing when your walking in them for some distance :( To be honest I have a pair of Cabelas lightweights that I really like, I had them before and switched to the Korkers cause I fell in love...

Re: walking in the river

I'm a fan of Chota's. They last and are comfortable but more important to me are the bungee laces they sell. The last pair I bought did not come with them  but for about $10 I ordered bungees from them and swapped them out for the string laces. Nothing better than using the bungee laces to qui...

Re: walking in the river

I wouldn't wear Korkers if you gave me a free pair monthly. They are the only manufacturer whose soles I find at least one of on nearly every fishing trip. That doesn't happen with any other manufacturer. Chota and Simms have done me well over the years and I can own any brand out there and don't h...

Korkers, not surprised, mine didn't hold up well at all. I'm a 2 time loser with them. I'll be switching brands.
Chota is the way to go, best felt soles I ever had, last pair the soles outlasted the uppers.

My brother has Korkers -
Im gonna try the Chota next

thx
