Came across this beaver dam on a Hunterdon Cty stream. It took awhile but I did manage to breach it. Lowered the water behind it by almost 2 feet. Caught 3 wild browns ain a pool that was under water an hour before.

Hey don’t worry the beavers will have it fixed in a week. On my brothers farm in NY he has been fighting a beaver for a year or more. So far beaver is ahead four to one. He took the dam apart four times and they had it fix in under a week..The last time he took it apart it took them three weeks to fix it. So what did he do . He made a 25 acre lake where the dam was and the beavers moved to some where else. So now he has 2 ponds on his farm. One 17 and the other 25 acres. I keep on telling him that he will have nothing but water on his farm. He said I still have 300 plus acres so the two ponds won’t hurt the rest of his property. I go up there to shoot woodchucks about twice a year and fish his two ponds. The last time I talked to him he says a beaver is now in his 17 acre pond. Bill the mailman

Nexr time I will bring a rake. If they dam some swamp up and create a nice bass pond, I'm cool with it. But hot damming up streams.

Its nature's calling. The beavers are just doing what they were bred for
