Unexpectedly Caught two nice rainbows in middle brook (main stem middle brook). About 2000 ft upstream from confluence with main stem Raritan. It's stocked in the spring up in East Branch. However only fall stocking would be 9 miles upstream the raritan in n/s branches.

Holdover? Or Stocked trout from this fall that really wanted to explore.

Had a few more follows in there.

They mite be dumb for a few weeks in the new water. But they get smart fast afterwards once they acclimate to their new surroundings.
