Smallies are always a nice surprise! Although you usually think you have a trophy trout until you realize its just an 8" smallie, they fight so hard!

Some of the biggest I've seen in NJ trout waters has been in the hamlet of Finesville on the lower Musky. If folks know where that nasty bamboo (which may have been finally dealt with?) was. That stretch seems to hold some monster smallies in warmer water months. Trout may be feeding nearby as well. I wonder if they remain in the Musky 24/7 or move into the Delaware at times.
