Musky report 10/14

Post by the royal coachman » Tue Oct 15, 2019 6:43 am

Fished the lower Musky yesterday. It was a beautiful mid-fall day and the river wasn't too crowded. I was part of the crew that helped with the fall stocking so I had some good intel. I caught a few fish in all the places I fished but the leaf hatch built as the wind picked up and became an issue late in the day. I started the day swinging a bugger and did catch one smaller holdover from the spring stocking but the leaves became too much and I switched to nymphing. An egg fly was what was for dinner catching the rest of my fish on either an Otter Egg or sucker spawn. I saw a lot of eggs in the river as well. I even saw some fish on redds. Plenty of fish in the river. Get out and catch 'em up!
I fish because the voices in my head tell me to.

I was on the middle Musky yesterday, saw plenty of fish stuck to the bottom and not moving, it was early afternoon. There were a few tan caddis flying around, but nothing hatching, except leaves, and nothing rising, water is extremely low...I won;t be returning until there is some rain.
