Got to the river at 530 this morning. It was still dark so I took my time going in. Water was a little on the high side and murky. Started fishing by 6. Had a couple of bumps on salmon eggs but couldn’t hook them. I noticed about 3 or 4 fish breaking the surface in a few different areas so I decided to try a spinner. First cast hooked up. Caught about another dozen in the next hour on that spinner then packed it in around 730 when the rain started. Didn’t see another angler all morning.

Have you ever tried fly fishing? I used to spin fish until I tried the fly.....it's addictive, and waaaaaay cooler. :D

Nice job. Whenever I would use a spinner I go with the Blue Fox Vibrax lures. I have always done well with the copper color ones.

I actually just got back into trout fishing last April after almost 20 years of just saltwater. I was considering making the plunge into fly fishing this past winter but it seems the fly fishing doesn’t really get good until well into may and by then I’m spending most of my free time in the salt. And not to mention the couple of thousand I just spent on spinning gear that I don’t want to collect dust!
