Tiger Trout
Tiger Trout
Nice fish...my first tiger trout, been fishing 40 plus years...
Took a scud in dead still water, sucked it off the bottom.

Re: Tiger Trout
Nice fish! Is it a wild fish?
Re: Tiger Trout
I doubt it because of it's size...it did have full fins and fought well...but I know a bunch of these were stocked by Shannon's last year..I was in the KLG. The fish was approx 17 inches...maybe 16. You can see the net markings and he was bent a bit.

Nice winter treat, old boy. In addition to their exotic vermiculation, I've always thought of them as kind of otherworldly since they're also sterile.

Re: Tiger Trout
I've caught several stocked tigers, but still no wild tigers in my 47 years fly fishing. Nice fish, LU.

Re: Tiger Trout
Im empty in both scenarios. Hope if i hit more brookie-like water in a brown trout stream i can find a wild one. From my understanding theyll be around where brookies are dominate in a stretch where browns take place?Rusty Spinner wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 9:47 amI've caught several stocked tigers, but still no wild tigers in my 47 years fly fishing. Re: Tiger Trout
As the old saying goes, it only takes two to tango. So anytime you have both wild brookies and wild browns, you have a chance at wild tigers. Not sure if a preponderance of one species over the other is important or not.coaltrout wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 11:09 amIm empty in both scenarios. Nice job!!
Im the opposite spectrum of catching tigers, all of mine have been wild. I ave caught 3 in my time if I recall. Two from a WTS and one from the KLG which was the most surprising fish of the bunch. It was only about 5-6" so definitely a wild fish.
