Blue Quill

Post by PortMurrayAng » Fri Mar 06, 2020 10:48 am

Saw a few BIG blue quill flying around among the stone flies yesterday afternoon on the musky. The fish were still keen on the LBS. I lost one after it threw the fly, only to catch it on the next cast in the same spot. No rising fish yet, but great afternoon to be out.

Nice. I saw some LBS yesterday as well and like you, no risers. What size were the BQs? 10? 8?

Yes, big. I am not great at identifying sizes, or flies really, but I'm tying some up now 14 - 12. Sunday looks warm so maybe they'll start looking up.
