74 degrees and Wild Brown Trout in March

After "school" today, I took my sons to a wild trout stream that I'd never been to before. There is a park nearby so we loaded the baseball bat into the trunk along with my bamboo rod and some dry flies. After hitting the ball a bit, it was time to explore the stream.

We walked along the meandering and tumbling flow until we neared its headwaters. Great pools, runs, and not a soul to be seen the entire way.

Caught a few wild browns up on top using a large (#12) Royal Coachman. Nice day to be out.

Nice! Looks like an exceptionally long tail on that brown.
