I may be able to fish Sunday or Monday. Are there any fish left alive in the Califon area of the SBR? Haven't been out since early June. It was a brutal summer. Temps look good for the next week though. Good times!!!

I know Solitude Club saw 78 degrees several times and had some dead trout. My guess is many fish moved upstream to escape the thermal issues this summer presented. Luckily, summer is gone regardless of the date on the calendar. But rivers also remain low, and we need another good spawning year and rains to make that happen.

Went to the gorge today. 65 degree water temp. Low water. Spotted two fish, hooked one and spooked the other fighting the first. Long release.small rainbow. Didn't spot many fish, just the 2..

It was 42 here this morning in the Budd Lake SBR headwaters area. Upper 30s coming later this week at night. River temps are all fine, but we have low water still. Not good as we get closer to spawning season, but we still have time for rain. I've been saying to anyone that will listen that the KLG will have very few fish in it this fall. We have seen this before. It takes 3 years or so to rebuild the stock between wild fish and stocked fish.

Air temps the last few days have been running about 10 degrees below average, esp. at night. I hope to wet a line tomorrow after work. Pray for those poor trout once my FBPT pierces the surface film and begins its hunt.

It was down right chilly this evening. I had a few beers on the balcony and it was 53 degree here in the far NW portion of DC at 8pm. It will likely go in the 40s tonight and mid 40s over the weekend, with average lows in the low 60s. The sun looked more like the moon this morning as a result of the smoke from the west coast, so I am wondering if the smoke is contributing to the lower temps, just like the volcanoes eruptions in the middle ages contributed to the little ice age. Also, I think the suns strength is at a minimum on its cycle. Perhaps we finally have a real winter again...

I climbed in my deer stand at 3pm yesterday and it was in the upper 60s. By the time I climbed down at dark, it was 51. By the time I reached my truck it was down to 49. Fall is here!

Walked point mountain today. Didnt see any fish but sunnies. I dont think the 2 guys fishing saw any either...very clear and low so fish are easy to see.
