Cicada Hype?
Cicada Hype?
Neighbor says squirrels and chipmunks are eating them in her backyard. Has anyone experienced anything to support the idea of FISH eating such "filet mignon"?
Re: Cicada Hype?
A new jersey fishing blog was sent to me via Instagram about something eating them at Spruce Run....and my dogs and cats love them.

Haven't seen one yet in N. Somerset County. Where are you?

Lots and lots of em bout a month ago....went to Merrill creek res and spruce run in the same day...lots landing in the water and some bass eating them but I think they had there fill at that point....I heard that the catfish at spruce have been feasting lately....but it's very localized ..I'm only 15 min east of spruce and nothing here at all???

Yeah, it's weird, I am 5 miles north of Spruce Run and I could hear them over the hill and got a few in the yard, my dogs and cats caught and ate a few, but I really didn't hear them close by...very spotty with these things.Fishybig wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 3:47 pmLots and lots of em bout a month ago....went to Merrill creek res and spruce run in the same day...lots landing in the water and some bass eating them but I think they had there fill at that point....I heard that the catfish at spruce have been feasting lately....but it's very localized ..I'm only 15 min east of spruce and nothing here at all???

I'm in Hunterdon. Lots of cicada here, but varying with exact location. I've seen the cicada patterns being marketed and wondered if anyone had hit pay-dirt with those big flies? I myself have not seen a fish gulp down such "filet mignon".
