Man that is a beautiful fish. Any chance the LLS are reproducing yet?

Dont think they can

Pretty sure they need a river with moving water....
Just another put and take fishery....I can say from experience, that the fight these guys put up is remarkable!!

More like a Put, Grow, Take Fishery! How do they taste out of NJ waters? I saw some videos of guys catching lots of smaller ones in late fall/early winter at aeroflex or Waywanda. They were hitting spinners in near freezing water.

I caught one in Rangeley Lake Maine a long, long time ago. I have thought of trying Aeroflex one day.

I think the closest reproducing landlocked are going to be the upper neversink. Not sure how much they actually reproduce but I have read there is some.

Only ever kept one or two back way back when....in my experience they were not good at all...similar to lake bound brown trout, therefor ive never taken another....then again i dont smoke fish and some guys say it turns every fish into candy

Kept one once that was deep hooked and bleeding. Was disappointed... Tasted like cross between bad hatchery salmon and bad hatchery trout. Which is exactly what it is I guess. Not good.

Wow, am surprised that they taste that bad. I once caught and kept a brown from RV and I enjoyed the flavor-if I remember correctly, the meat was bright orange and tasted like a wild salmon. It had spent at least one year in the lake so it was pretty much a wild fish at that point. Perhaps I have strange taste buds as I also like Potomac river catfish. White perch, though are probably my favorite fish to eat. The only really bad fish that I have ever eater are shad. Mackerel and bluefish are also towards the bottom of my list. Pickerel, perch (yellow and white), and walleye are towards the top. Farm raised trout and farm raised tilapia pretty much have no flavor, so they dont really count.
