KLG 10/11/2021
I had the day off, so after some chores, I headed to the KLG. I spoke to five anglers on my walk down the road, all of whom reported the big smelly black and white. I entered the stream undeterred, as I do everything else in life, but soon understood their plights! First I tried nymphing a fall favorite, a FBHE/PT combo, but both proved ineffective. Then I heard the George Costanza wisdom beckon:
"If every instinct you have is wrong, then the opposite would have to be right"
So, I tied on a Royal Wulff dry fly and wham, got a few of these nice little browns up on top. Glad fall is finally here. BT

Good to see the brown trout, thanks for the post.

Nice pictures, nice report! I guess those smaller wild fish find ways to survive the summer heat-they must find the springs and little spring fed tribs while the larger stocked fish are not able to go.

I've heard from a number of anglers that since we had that flash flood a few weeks back, that KLG fishing has been horrible. Were the fish washed out? Any ideas? Not sure if Jim H. is reading this board but he'd probably know.

Wtg!! Always nice when a plan falls apart, and then comes together!!

I tend to shy away from the KLG, haven't fished it in a few years. Glad to see wild fish there.
