Nope but I have a new rod I want to put through the paces so it looks like I'll be out Saturday.

Assuming ice is still solid, saturday would be an ideal day to get out on the ice with pleasant temps, sunshine, and hopefully biting fish in advance of the front that will come through saturday night/sunday

No worries from me. I have spots that see little pressure. My standards are hardly standard.

I'm in CO for a couple weeks for work, and spending the weekend in Estes Park. I found a little open water the Big Thompson and found this one holding tight. I was almost whacking him on top of the head and barely budged. Sitting on that white rock at the right-side edge.

Re: Has anyone been out for trout
Looks like a spawning redd.
Remember that on warm days in winter when snow and ice are melting, the river temps are actually dropping which reduces a trout's metabolism. Once the ice and snow are all melted and we get a warm day, then the trout will be active as water temps warm. But I do understand cabin fever and the need to get out on the water. Just keep your expectations low accordingly.

Saturday was great for trout in PA, hoping ice season comes to a close soon
Re: Has anyone been out for trout
I was able to get out Saturday to shake down a new rod I bought and put it through the paces. Worked out better than I expected, rod does everything I wanted it for. The though didn't cooperate but I really wasn't expecting much due to having limited time (and a few snafus like having to retreat back home cause I forgot my license and fly reel).
