Opening day 2022 washout

Post by troutfishing4life » Tue Apr 05, 2022 4:45 pm

With heavy rain coming over the next 2 and half days looks like there will be lots of fish in the rivers and they will be nice and spread out.

Not sure if I will fish saturday have some small streams near by that could be okay by saturday and the idea of lake fishing for trout bores me

I hope the fish will get spread out some. instead of the bucket patrol people just sitting @ the drop points of bridges.

I cant make it out opening day, but hearing about the rain makes me more hopeful for Sunday when I should have a few hours to kill on the creek.

It's only the first stocking, will have to see what the weather is like for the remainder. If it were the Covid stocking procedure I would agree.

I fished the KLG Monday. There were fish, lots of fish. Slow in the AM but as the day wore on and the water warmed a bit the fish became active. Saw some BWO and what appeared to be red quills..I can't be sure as I couldn't catch one. A few caddis fluttering around. No fish were paying attention to the many upright wings floating on the water. A few emerger chasing rises was all I saw. But to the point. LOTS OF FISH.

Good to hear there are alot of fish in there again. Its been tough there the last few years lots of low water has taken its toll there. Hopefully all these new fish spread out and we have a good wet summer and it can come back to a great fishery

Should be a nice day to hit some brookie streams. That is my normal go to if i hit something on opening day. I have a new rod or two break in.
