Shannon's sale on items over $100

Post by Rusty Spinner » Thu Jun 23, 2022 1:33 pm

Shannon's is going through some tough times with Jim remaining in the hospital fighting cancer and issues from chemo treatments. They have new hours of 8am - 4pm and are selling any item over $100 for a 45% discount. Think rods, reels, waders, some wading boots, and Fish Pond vests. Please support them at this time while getting some great deals on gear.

Better get there quick. I was there a couple of weeks ago, and was shocked how lacking of just about everything the store was. If I recall correctly there were maybe a half dozen fly rods.

I was there yesterday and the fly rod wall was 100% full. My guess is they put more out that are stored in the back room. I know they had 5 Abel reels recently. A 45% discount goes a long way with a high end rod or reel.

Praying that Jim pulls throw. Cancer sucks and Chemo can be almost as bad.

Yes on both! He's been fighting a good fight. I am 28 years out from chemo and radiation myself, and not a minute goes by that I am not reminded of that fact for any variety of reasons, mostly physical.

People seem to downplay or not talk about the side effects/risks of chemo. It actually did my dad in last year, this week-it scrambled his brain, messed with his kidneys and then dampened his immune system so that he went into sceptic shock and died, all in a matter of about 10 days. He was 76 so not so young but not so old either. Fortunately Jim is at Morristown and probably getting better care than at HMC. Godspeed to him!

I am also a survivor and also agree. Chemo sucks. But radiation did most of the damage to my body, and not chemotherapy. But I was a very healthy individual at the age of 28/29 when I went through it, and that always helps.

Did anyone pickup a new toy? I called last week to see if they had any 7' to 7.5' 3-weights in stock as I'm about an hour away. No luck. Not in the market for anything else that would go for $100.00 even with the huge savings. I have more than enough stuff to go through I'm not using - LOL
