Planning? Yes. Getting out? No. Today would have been a perfect fit for my schedule, but I'm not hard up enough to chase stocked trout in the rain in 35 degree weather with rising rivers.troutfishing4life wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 11:03 amThinking of maybe fishing sunday no sure where yet but a few hours of trout fishing will be nice

True dat (because I'm so from the 'hood), but they are falling back fast. SBR is only 288cfs which is fishable now, but should be in the 100s by Sunday. I like that river anywhere under 200 cfs and it can easily be fished well above that number.troutfishing4life wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 10:43 amRivers got high with yesterdays rain
Sunday should be decent
Never fished the rockaway and its very close to my house most of the lower river stocked sections are less than 20 minutes from metroutfishing4life wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 10:42 amIve been fishing only on the days it was reaching above 45*. So Ive been out a few times this month already.
My next trip will be on saturday likely. Im thinking either BFB or Rockaway river. I was reading some guy on FB was rocking them in the rockaway river.
Thats my target day now with last nite rain. I really dont care for high stained waters....troutfishing4life wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 10:43 amRivers got high with yesterdays rain

Yeah especially if you like shopping carts, tires, sea containers, plastic bags, bums, bears, meth cooking operations.
Does anyone know why the road is closed, is it for the Winter months. I never fish it that far downstream, assuming it's where I think it is close to Flatbrookville.Troutman wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 6:14 pmHit the BFB today. water was flowing. They also had the road closed off with cement dividers @ steam bridge. Also hit the Paulinskill. water was high, muddy & moving. Also hit the pequest. water was slightly high, but clear. hook up with 2. landed 0. both spit the hook back @ me in heavy current. So got skunked in all 3 river today
This weekend coming up mite be a bad idea. With all this rain the week & snow tomorrow in the forecast. The rivers will be blown out for sure. The rivers up NNJ was already high as it istroutfishing4life wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 9:41 amNever made it out this weekend had to many things going will try to maybe get out this up coming weekend then
For the most part is actually a pretty clean urban river cutting thru Dover. Yes. A few small parts mite be what you described. Next time I fish there. Im gonna take a picture of it. showing your a part that would surprise you
Im thinking because of the twisting hilly roads when it snows mite be unsafe . But idk for a fact. they even had the road closed( I think its Mide Hill rd) going to Rt80 from down there also. so I dont think there was access to the boat ramps eithercappy wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 9:08 amDoes anyone know why the road is closed, is it for the Winter months.
