Planning? Yes. Getting out? No. Today would have been a perfect fit for my schedule, but I'm not hard up enough to chase stocked trout in the rain in 35 degree weather with rising rivers.

Ive been fishing only on the days it was reaching above 45*. So Ive been out a few times this month already.

My next trip will be on saturday likely. Im thinking either BFB or Rockaway river. I was reading some guy on FB was rocking them in the rockaway river.

Made it out Monday. They were on midges and a #20 Slim Pickins worked well.

True dat (because I'm so from the 'hood), but they are falling back fast. SBR is only 288cfs which is fishable now, but should be in the 100s by Sunday. I like that river anywhere under 200 cfs and it can easily be fished well above that number.

So where and when are we meeting??? :D

The Dover-Booton sections are like 35 minutes away from me. Parts of the river is very scenic. close your eyes & it will remind you of the Musky ;) . Its a hot spot during stocking season for sure.

Hit up a WTS today. Had more come off then landed, all in all a good day.

Hit the BFB today. water was flowing. They also had the road closed off with cement dividers @ steam bridge. Also hit the Paulinskill. water was high, muddy & moving. Also hit the pequest. water was slightly high, but clear. hook up with 2. landed 0. both spit the hook back @ me in heavy current. So got skunked in all 3 river today

Does anyone know why the road is closed, is it for the Winter months. I never fish it that far downstream, assuming it's where I think it is close to Flatbrookville.

Im thinking because of the twisting hilly roads when it snows mite be unsafe :?: . But idk for a fact. they even had the road closed( I think its Mide Hill rd) going to Rt80 from down there also. so I dont think there was access to the boat ramps either

Going to hit a local stocked Pond "soon". Won't get on a river until spring.
