Columbia Lake is no more with the dam down, and the Paulinskill runs through free to the delaware now.
I fished this part of the WMA below where the dam was this winter along with a friend and we only got 1 small trout.
Has anyone fished this recently, catching shad? trout? bass?

I havent fished that area since they took the dam down. I was reading that area of the old dam was closed. To access was restricted. I used to take the dirt road from the highway to get to the dam that went around the lake. There used to be shad stacked up by the dam when they ran up the Big D.coaltrout wrote: ↑Fri Jun 23, 2023 10:10 amColumbia Lake is no more with the dam down, and the Paulinskill runs through free to the delaware now.

The WMA access right off 46 is back open now, it was closed for a while. I wanted to fish it in the spring after a good rain but got caught up in other fishings!

Google maps shows it closed, but the picture is from 2019. Used to take the Scout's there when we camped at Worthington.

Re: Paulinskill by Columbia WMA
I believe that area is all open again now that the dam removal and native plantings are long completed. Trout won't do great in the lower river in summer due to temps, but once the Paulina dam is removed (this year??), it will help cool the river even more. Shad cannot be targeted except in the Delaware River. Striped bass can be, but I really don't know any anglers that do so in the P-kill or Musky.
