Yep, almost 3 inches forecast for my location over the next 2 days. The same for the NW part of the state.

The Toms has been rippin.

Get the diamond sinkers and leadheads ready for Saturday's opener! Mother nature is a raging again. Nice of her to help float stock. :D

The Toms is running at 523 fps, increasing at 7 fps an hour and it will be raining until Friday. The trout will wind up in Barnegat Bay.

Maybe the rain will cut down on opening day crowds. Nah.

Ugh. I go to Verona Lake opening day every year since I moved to town as tradition. It's the only time I bait fish for trout. Usually I head to a stream later in the day, maybe I'll just stay at the lake.

When do you wade and feel safe on the main TCAs?

I'd say:
Pequest 350 cfs

SBR 300 cfs

Musky 400 cfs

Good luck to those heading out!

You are more confident wading than me, I say

Pequest 300 cfs

SBR 250 cfs

Musky 350 cfs

Plus fishing is way more difficult for me at those levels.

Just checked out he Manasquan to see how the stringer brigade was doing. Only one car in the parking lot where usually on opening day the parking lot would be overflowing.

Fished a local pond this morning and watched an Osprey steal a fish that an angler was playing. Unable to free the fish from the Osprey, the angler cut the line and the bird left with the fish, some line and a bobber. Unfortunatly I don' t think it's going to work out well for the Osprey.

It wasn't even close to an all time high just so you know. In fact, there were two higher flow events on the Toms this year alone (Jan. and early March) let alone others over the years.

Yes, that makes sense.
