A Good Spring Ahead

Post by Castaline » Wed Apr 10, 2024 1:30 pm

I think it will be good trout fishing spring. When I have been able to get out and the water has finally been manageable the fishing has been good including some nice rising fish. Little early season pressure due to water levels and lots of fish in the river. Here is a nice non South Branch dry fly brown

Looks like that one narrowly escaped death by heron once. Nice one.

Nice fish, did you bring him up without a hatch or was something on the water?

That was a rising fish caught with a dry caddis. Some midges around too... at least last weekend. Should be good once the water gets a change to come down again.
