Trout Fishing Done for Now - Smallmouth?

Post by cappy » Wed Jun 26, 2024 4:44 am

Too warm and too low for Trout except for the upper Delaware system. Does anyone have a favorite river for Smallmouth besides the Delaware? Not looking for the exact location just the river. I prefer smaller waters.

While I don't know the spots, I do have buddies that do well in the Raritan for smallies. And some nice ones.

Hi, I can only write about the Big D. Fish above the Milford rapids above where the Saw Kill enters the Big D. Great water for Smallies and Walleyes. Probably need a boat to get above the rapids but could walk up along the shore on the Pa. side. It would be a hike but if you are young and in shape give it a shot. Bill the mailman

Look into the reservoirs; Manasquan, Round Valley, Monksville all have smallies, probably more.
