Will the surf fishing down in Villas ( by Cape May Point ) be better the end of August than the end of July.......last July was just dogfish, one Kingfish and some sharks and Rays......will one month make a difference ?? Im not much of a surf guy so some of you salties may have the answer......last year used mostly salted clams......

im not familiar with that area, but it depends on what your looking to catch. if you just passing the time on the sand 1 month wont make much or a difference. it will be too early for albies and stripers. bucktails and gulp should have the flukes attention. bait near dusk for sharks bigger than you want to know are swimming that close to shore.

Salted clams are a fine striper bait, but you won't be catching many in August. I would target fluke and use spearing and squid strips or Gulp on a jig if spin or baitcasting. Or go after the sharks at night for some fun for the whole family. Just watch your toes. :D
