Watched a guy fishing with light tackle ( probably fluking) catch a decent sized striper right out of the wash on Saturday. It was mid morning so no need to get up early. Ocean Temp is 64°. Perfect fly rod scenario.

Adult bunker were heavy yesterday in southern Monmouth county. Fished at sunrise but no luck. Bait is a few hundred yards off the beach. Not sure if they came in later on the incoming. Now is the time to dust off that 10-wgt...

down in dixie, the big stripers made a very brief appearance in the surf, as is their habit the last 10 years or so.

then it's been shorts both by surf and boat, think the surf shorts finally slowed to a near halt recently.

for me, I finished the year throwing some live minnows at a local lake and picked up a good sized crappie. that will be my habit throughout the winter,
if it bumps above 40 for a day or 2 and there is no ice (as is the norm lately).

Tight lines to all!
