Banner day on Big D

Post by Razorbacker » Sat Sep 12, 2020 9:39 pm

I floated the Delaware up in Milford area today, and may have had my best day ever, certainly from a quality/quantity standpoint. After a real slow start, I finished with 20, but 4 were in high 'teens, on top of my PB NJ-caught smallie, a 20", solid 4 lbr. That was some fight, floating downstream through two sets of rapids about 250 yards... finally able to land it after hitting some slow water. Somersaulted clear at least 10 times. Will post a pic later, when it gets sent to me.

Really happy to hear about a banner smallie day on the Big D! What did you get them on? With the cooling water, but still over 55 degrees, the smallies are supposed to really go on the feedbag this time of year in preparation for winter.
4 pounds is a tremendous smallie-a ten incher will put a bend on the rod, a 15 inch smallie will peel drag and a 20 inch 4 pounder is just amazing!

My usual pumpkin seed twister tail lead head jig. But anything rubber usually kills. Wacky rigs, shad, etc..
