I can't believe this shit is being revisited....but when you have a ***** moron in the White House anything is possible, I guess. The comment period starts March 1st...you can access the comments on Instagram through a portal on @wildsalmoncenter I am sure there will be other ways to find it. This mine is the biggest mostest horriblest stupidest idea in the history of destruction...It was put to bed by that "awful" president O'Bama, but has been awoken by the Kraken Trump....
The Army Corps of Engineers have just released their draft Environmental Impact Report.

It was never "put to bed by Obama". The EPA did jump the gun a bit under Obama's watch, but the mine wasn't killed and later reopened by Trump. That said, I agree 100% with you about the mine and its threat to native salmon and trout in Alaska. Hopefully it never gets off the ground. What is bothersome to me about the Army Corps report is how they elevated our (worldwide) need for copper over our need for sustainable food in the form of salmon to the local economy and local people of Alaska.

I agree Rusty, OBama was in the process af trying to stop it under the clean water act, not sure on the last detail, but it was in the courts.. I read or watched on the news some time ago that Pruitt signed off on letting the permit process continue..One key here I cant seem to find, is if a ruling was made or if the process was still in the courts. Either way, the administration has the ability to make it very difficult for the mining co.
"If the company … can show that water quality will be protected and that air quality will be protected and the fish and wildlife resource will be protected … essentially they’re due a permit.” –Alaska DNR deputy commissioner Ed Fogels
This quote alone is enough to stop this project...

BTW, I didn't like O'Bama much, but he was trying to do the right thing here...I think it's obvious what I think of the Orange boob we have now.. :D

Thank you for the info...I just read the settlement, rather than letting the lawsuits against the EPA continue Pruitt signed off on a settlement to let the process of permitting continue...So explain to me if I'm wrong, I probably am.
The EPA, under OBama was making very difficult to get the permits so the mining company sued them over several things...it was in the courts, Pruitt decided to settle and let the process start again..very very simplified, but sounds about right...Was this a case the EPA would have lost? Just asking for sake of understanding...Thanks for any more information.
