Native Fish Coalition looking to add a NJ chapter

Post by Rusty Spinner » Wed Jan 20, 2021 3:10 pm

The Native Fish Coalition formed a few years ago to focus solely on native fish issues. TU is all about trout and salmon, but not always necessarily about native fish, and they are only about trout and salmon whereas NFC focuses on all species of native fish. They began in Maine, and now have several state chapters and are looking to start one here in NJ. Please PM me if you are interested in becoming involved. For the record, I serve on their Advisory Board regarding fisheries habitat.

Thanks.. I've gotten some good PMs and we will see where this all goes in time. The idea is not a direct competitor to TU, but rather an organization focusing on ALL wild fish wherever they may live and not just coldwater species or just wild, but non-native fish.

Rusty,
I am a member already. I am interested to pursue if we can get a group together.

It would be welcome alternative to TU's fly tying and FF 101 routines.........
