I want to put out an invitation to all,to our Fly Tying Night. I apologize for slacking off and not posting for a while. That being said, let me tell you about our tying nights. We usually have a group of 15-20 people at most nights. If you have ever attended before, you know it is a very laid back event. It is open to all, free, and we encourage new people to drop in to see what this hobby is all about. There are usually 5 or 6 tying tables. I am the instructor for the beginners. We go over basic tools, materials, simple fly patterns. If you are a first timer, I would suggest that you bring a pad and pen. We talk about tying materials and where to buy them, so it will be helpful for you to make notes. The other tables are where the more experienced tyers are. We usually have a video camera set up and we demonstrate techniques and patterns. We supply vices and materials to the beginners. These items have been generously donated to our chapter. I ask that the more experienced tyers bring their own materials. If you check our RAHWAY RIVER TU Meet Up site, I post the upcoming patterns and a material list (usually). We always have free coffee and snacks. You will find that the people at the tying nights are very helpful and friendly. If you want to bring a young guest, you must accompany them. I believe that if you come to one of our tying nights, you will have a very fun and entertaining night. Hope to see some new faces.
