mouse fly

Post by kype » Thu Aug 25, 2022 6:19 pm

i tied this mouse fly a couple months ago. it was my first try at making a mouse fly. definetly needs some improvement, but i think this fly would catch fish.

tail is a gray zonker strip and then made the body stacking deer hair. i left the tail end long, trimmed the body. and trim the underneathe flat so the fly stays upright.

I find a more slender body both casts and catches better than when they are more fat and round. That fly should do very well for you!

Throw that on the lower Musky at night...you may be surprised at what happens.
