Hit the Green Brook in the town of Green Brook for a while today, didn't catch anything though, maybe next time.

That is actually an embarrassment and some public works department should do something about it.

Agree, The watchung reservation stretch is decent if you're looking for small fun.
However there's some liter there too but not like the lower, floodplain, sections of the green brook.
I havent found smallmouth bass but I know stocked trout have a chance of holding over there, saw one rainbow in the middle of july I think last year.

That's exactly what rivers here in Kosovo look like.

Worse than what it looked like in the sixties and seventies.

It's only a half hour drive to the KLG from the Green Brook, think about that.

But there are no fish in the KLG, no point in making the drive. :)

12/8/18: 100+ people cleaned the Green Brook today, some came as far as Hackensack to help. A reporter from the Courier News showed up. Hot food donated by Texas Roadhouse for the volunteers.

Wonderful job. It's disgraceful that it had to be done though.

Here is the website for Central Jersey Stream Team: http://www.cjstreamteam.org/
Nice job by these people; I didn't even know such a great (and local) team existed.

And here's an article about the clean-up with some interesting quotes from the team's members: https://www.mycentraljersey.com/story/n ... 228485002/

Early season during the trout stocking I have a lot of fun catching trout on the fly in the upper section and throw them all back and the people look at you funny when you throw them.
