Personally, 250 cfs starts to be high for me but it doesn't mean you shouldn't try it. The good thing about the South Branch is it rises and lowers quicker than all the other streams in the area. The bad thing is it discolors quickly and takes a while to clear up but you can adjust techniques technics to deal with this.
I fish because the voices in my head tell me to.

Last month, when these crazy flows sent the rivers up and down, I fished the lower section of the KLG when it was around 400, but clear. I did pretty well considering, but lost many flies on the bottom. Wading was tough, but doable if you are careful. When it went back to normal, I got skunked every time!

I prefer under 300 cfs for the KLG myself. The higher it gets, the tougher the wading and access to some of the spots.

I fish bellow the Highbridge dam when the flows are high. Easy to access and plenty of fish

When the rivers are high and swollen, I fish with a wading stick (usually any sturdy branch I can find stream-side). I rest the branch on a nearby rock or hang it from a tree limb while I'm casting. It gives me some peace of mind during the trip.

The only dumpling spot that I know that was close to the SBR in that area burnt down. That stretch has alot of fly fisherman there.
