Ready for the hate but....i was at Target and spotted these red ants in the $1 isle at the front of the store..i'm not gonna say it was easy to get the hook through the plastic but check out the results..A #16 hook by the way...

Looks like they float nice! Traditionalists will hate but is it really worse than a foam ant? I dont think so. Come early summer a floating ant is a killer on the fly!

Why not, they may just work. I make mine out of balsa wood and tippet material. Let us know how the trout like them!
