Yes, on New Year's Eve!

Post by MickyFinn » Wed Jan 06, 2021 6:52 pm

Hey, I'm more impressed with SBRtool's three wild browns--but this was my catch on 12/31/20--one of those fall-stocking 15-inchers. I'd seen this fish holding in a certain hole--and had fished for it on several different outings--without success--a tricky lie: undercut bank and submerged roots to contend with--short casts and sweating it not to snag on every drift. And then, the thought crosses my mind: You're not letting taking advantage of the full length of the drift. So, I let the rig go farther toward the tail of the pool and--Bang!

Great fish, but a Kamloops rainbow that you can thank Shannon's for stocking. :D

How can it be identified as a "Kamloops" rainbow?

Thanks to Shannon's for their winter stocking, anyway--but that fish came from downstream of Clinton. :)

I'm one of the little folks myself! :D And you are correct, Shannon's takes in a lot of donations from anglers while in the store putting spare change or bills in the stocking bucket on the front counter.

I understand "Unknown" is a brilliant literary giant when not restoring rivers.
