2021 Regulations and Stocking Information?

Post by cappy » Sun Feb 28, 2021 3:38 am

Anyone know the stocking dates, protocol for this coming season and associated rules? I assume the C&R only stretches remain open regardless.

Here is what we learned last week that I posted on another hunting forum.....

Looks like I even beat the Division's press release this time. Hot off the press from the Director regarding this year's trout stocking:

A total of 500,000 trout will be distributed in four weeks during pre-season stocking which will begin on March 15th instead of 22nd.

Trout stocked waters will be closed to fishing beginning March 15th.

Trout stocked waters will be open for Catch & Release ONLY beginning April 1st.

Regular trout season begins on April 10th with a six (6) trout limit (check regs for wild brown and brook trout limits).

No Bonus Broodstock lakes will be designated for 2021.

There will be no in-season waterbody closures (such as the Musky closed until 5 pm on Fridays for stocking).

The remaining 70,000 rainbow trout will be stocked during a one week period in May.

So a little different than last year, but not by much.

Will the TCA's will be open for C&R fishing prior to opening day as usual?

Thank you Brian.

The Gorge and FB No-Kill stretches; do they remain open to fishing year round or closed from 3/15 thru 4/1 ?

I'm pretty sure they stay open ... That's always been the deal there since new regs were introduced.

Yes, of course. No changes at all to TCAs or No-Kills.
