Albies starting to show on northern NJ beaches

Post by Rusty Spinner » Fri Sep 13, 2019 9:01 am

Not a regular run yet, but I had two buddies down this week and both got brief shots at Albies at Sea Bright and Sandy Hook. It's early, but it looks like another decent year for our pelagics

Surf candy for rainfish bait and Deceivers and Crease Fly for peanuts. They will key on silversides/rainfish until those are largely gone and then turn to peanuts most years. First light seems to always be best for Albies into mid morning. Rare is the day they are around all day, but that does and can happen at any time. I plan to run down at some point this week ahead of my next restoration job in CT the week of the 23rd.
