Re: Pressure

Wow, am surprised that they taste that bad. I once caught and kept a brown from RV and I enjoyed the flavor-if I remember correctly, the meat was bright orange and tasted like a wild salmon. It had spent at least one year in the lake so it was pretty much a wild fish at that point. Perhaps I have st...

Re: Maine North Woods next week

Looks like a great trip-similar to you, we didnt find any lunker brook trout up there but lots of pan sized fish from 8-11 inches.

Re: KLG 10/11/2021

Nice pictures, nice report! I guess those smaller wild fish find ways to survive the summer heat-they must find the springs and little spring fed tribs while the larger stocked fish are not able to go.

Re: Pressure

More like a Put, Grow, Take Fishery! How do they taste out of NJ waters? I saw some videos of guys catching lots of smaller ones in late fall/early winter at aeroflex or Waywanda. They were hitting spinners in near freezing water.

Maybe its just the size of the photo, but that looks like a big old large mouth!

Re: Five days on the upper Delaware coming up

That's a pretty massive bow! Since its a tail water fishery, does the water stay in the 40-50 degree range all winter, making it fishable even on cold days?

Re: Maine North Woods next week

Enjoy! My brother and I did a four day camping/brook trout fishing trip up there in about 2005-I remember it being somewhere about an hour's drive west of Presque Isle on some kind of massive timber concession. We went with a guide that had a camp set up and he cooked for us and drove us around to v...

free bamboo rods to a good home.

Is anyone interested in two bamboo rods? My God Father was an avid duck hunter and fly fisherman and he gave me the rods last month. I think they need a little work and not sure if they are useable or not. As much as I love fly fishing, I am not into gear that much and dont have the interest/bandwid...

Re: Wild brookies, snakes, and ticks

I think I got lucky with that bigger brookies as all the other ones were less than 6 inches. I also took my daughter to a different stream for some wild browns-it was the first place my dad ever took us trout fishing at a similar age. Unfortunately he passed away this week-fortunately my daughter h...

Re: 60 Degree Temps in July

I wet wade a lot for trout and especially smallies. I dont mind getting wet, but I do find it annoying to get sand/pebbles in my wading boots/old tennis shoes. Any tips on preventing that?

Wild brookies, snakes, and ticks

Needed to clear my had today while at my parents so I made quick escape to the only wild brookie stream I know of in the township. I wanted to do thinks simple so I tied on an EHC on to a 6X tippet and off I went. I havent fished the stream since 2014 and it was very overgrown and difficult to get d...

Re: Five days on the upper Delaware coming up

At least you have located the fish-I am not sure what is more frustrating-blind casting and not being able to hone in where the fish are, or knowing exactly where they are but not being able to hook them. Such is the fisherman's dilemma! Good luck and I am sure with persistence you will make it happ...

Re: It's warm.

Well, after 42 years, my parents are planning on selling soon and downsizing. So if you are interested in some stream front property and 5 acres (mix of woods/pasture/yard) with a nice 4 Bedroom house with finished basement, let me know. There are lots of woods surrounding my parents land as well wi...
