Re: Funeral service?
This is an individuals forum to a dedicated topic, a whole lot different than a FB,or TICy TOCy or X also known as Twitter. Cute names though.

Re: Funeral service?
This site remains a social media site. Far different from Facebook, for certain, but social media nonetheless.

Re: Funeral service?
ive been using FB for a year now and as long as you keep to good fishing groups it's a pretty enjoyable experience IMO.
Thats a tricky aspect to pretty much all the modern platforms, need to keep yourself from getting distracted by other content just a click away or on the home-screen

Re: Funeral service?
I don't say so, the Dictionary says so. Although I am a bit surprised you don't see forums as social media.

Re: Funeral service?
been a member of a few FB trout fishing pages. Not to many bad experiences. way more positive then negative. Meet a few guys on there & fished. Shared a few spots. 1 even introduced me to some LOVELY PA waters. causght some personal bests from those water. way more then rainbows to. Gigantic browns & brookies. ALL C&R guys. Mostly spin & center pin anglers. learning as I go.coaltrout wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 9:44 amive been using FB for a year now and as long as you keep to good fishing groups it's a pretty enjoyable experience IMO.

Rather ironic that this thread on the lack of posts is actually on fire with posts.
Re: Funeral service?
It's pretty darn simple to simple to bring it back to some interesting level. Come up with a post that does make you sound cranky and opens the door for discussion. If we all do that once a week it would make for a more interesting board.

Re: Funeral service?
Sure, but its the summer doldrums and trout cannot be pursued with minor exceptions (spring creeks and tailwaters). This site was dead even years ago at this time of summer.

Oh stop it and buy an expensive fly rod...Troutman wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 1:03 pmThis site is rather dead because it not a very friendly warm inviting site for non fly trout angler-fisherman. Everyone doesnt fly fish. Some center-pin & spin. Some of our equipment is also way more expensive then the typical fly gear. but we are looked down upon because we dont fly fish . I for 1 C&R everything. I dont keep a single trout for myself. Unless it get mortally wounded. Then I just offer it to a fisherman that does eat fish in the river. Or I bring home for my neighbor to enjoy. All my fish pictures are in the net. The fish is submerged. But some guy decided to post here that I dont handle fish properly from the striperonline page he read. From another member there that doesnt like me because I can afford expensive gear. Jealous showed their ugly head. So I just ignore every time he tries to respond to 1 of my posts. I dont have time for ignorant people. Im here to share a passion. Not to be a target .
I don't care how you fish, just have fun, but some good hearted ribbing once in a while is good.

Re: Funeral service?
I thought this was about me for a second!! I'm alive, even if my site is on life support.... As Rusty mentioned, other forms of social media have taken over and left forums behind. If its not app based on your phone, its lost to time at this point.
I'm more guilty than any of you for not posting or even looking at GST lately. I also cant remember the last time I caught a trout, probably over the winter. In spring and summer I switch to bass and salt. I am eager to get back to some nymphing and breaking out the bamboo on some nice small creeks in the fall. That is if this heat ever breaks!
I do apologize for my lack of attention to GST but life has found a way of keeping me busy. I have a new, higher level job with much more responsibilities so spending the day on the website isn't really possible. My daughter is just about 18 months and my wife and I are enjoying (almost) every second of it!! Needless to say after a busy work day, I want to come home and see my family and not jump back on a computer (or phone). Weekends we spend at our place in Pocono and disconnect as well. Im glad there is still some activity here and im sorry for not contributing more myself!

We are in Marshalls Creek, just north of East Stroudsburg. Waiting for work to end so I can head up there today! The weather has finally broke!46er wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 9:06 amWhere in the Pocono's is your place? My Son is in the process of buying a place near Bushkill.
